Duct Tape Rabbit
Aaron's mom worked her tail off when we were kids. Single mom to 3 rambunctious boys, she had high quality tastes, but sadly that's hard to maintain when you care for 3 absolutely amazing human tornados. Plus me. who was like a double sized tornado, but only on rare yet completely random occasions. To paint a picture of what it was like consider this piece of absolute "fiction." As mentioned in various legal documents, which are now sealed, we had a love of fire and fireworks. In this very same apartment, a spark from a fuse of a firework landed on the carpet and smoldered for HOURS. Eventually making a large awkward circle that the largest of throw rugs had difficulty in covering. To this day, I'm still quite impressed how LARGE a throw rug can be!
Now, Back to the bunny...
Actually all there is to tell here is that I knew someone once, who broke a fine porcelain rabbit that belonged to his mother. The white rabbit was standing upright on it's hind legs, it was holding a carrot in it's left hand, and really that's all I remember of it. I'm pretty sure it was broke when I got there, but somehow, it was shattered into about 13 pieces. Weirdly, each piece was cleanly broken. They fit together like a puzzle for a small child, but in 3D. Not having superglue on hand at the time, Aaron, er someone.... then used duct tape to hold the pieces together. Leaving only the ears to stick out so that his mother wouldn't notice. The funny part is that she didn't notice for several seconds* There's some contention here. It probably didn't help that when she came home, we were all immediately and awkwardly staring at silvery glow coming from this masterpiece. It somehow illuminated as if it was a leg lamp on Christmas, despite having no energy source, immediately drawing the attention of anyone near it.
Apparently he is not the only one to ever duct tape a rabbit. But sadly, due to the gradual erosion of the internet. The links I had prior are no longer, so I had to make a picture w/ AI to illustrate the absolute genius in the repair skills of Aaron. While the rabbit was more of "standing" in posture, these images below capture the essence very well. Especially with the nice furniture in the background.
*It was like 20 seconds according to Kylen, 5 seconds according to Jeff and I, and 2+ hours according to Aaron.
